Surprisingly good value

This review is about initial quality because I’ve had the EVSE for less than a day.

The front of the unit has a sunlight-readable display which shows instantaneous Amps, total kWh delivered, total time charging, and temperature (the manual doesn’t say whether this is the plug temp or the box temp, but I’m guessing the latter). It cycles between the readouts, or you can press a button to switch them manually. There is also a large strip of colored LEDs that allow you to read charging status from across the room.

The cord feels like a high quality silicone rubber, with good strain relief at both ends. I didn’t measure the length, but the manual says 24 feet, which looks about right. Fit and finish on the J handle (the end that goes in your car) feel excellent and solid.

I didn’t test the GFCI or overcurrent protection, but pressing the release switch on the J handle immediately stops the charge session.

Good value for a backup.

I purchased the Morec 15A EV Charger as a backup to the one supplied by Ford for my Mustang Mach-E. I used it for several days to ensure it was in working condition and then stored it in my Mach-E for "just in case" situations. The Morec has a longer pigtail than the Ford supplied charger. The cable is husky and seems robust. It's as long as the Ford charger. I like the panel on the charger that tells me the current draw and charge rate. This is useful to me as I use it on a 15 amp 110v circuit in my garage. It showed a steady draw of 10.8 Amps, certainly within the safety limits I had in mind. The charge rate matched the one that the Ford charger provides as expected. I had measured the Ford current draw (11 Amps) so I knew the two were close. The Morec has a cover over the J-1772 plug (J plug) which the Ford does not. I like the idea that the plug is protected when not in use. All-in-all I've been pleased with the charger (more correctly an EVSE). It seems a good value to me.
